Who put that ship in the way of my sunset!

The morning started off rather naff. Rain and thick cloud greeted the North East as I woke at 5am. I drove to the coast, just in case the sun crept through a chink in the clouds but no, nothing...should have stayed in bed. But the day got brighter and the promise of a decent sunset was there and off we went in search of it. Looking on my apps and on the web, Battleship Wharf at Blyth seemed to be a good choice to get any colour in the water looking westwards.
Also it would be our first time at the location so we didn't really know what to expect. Luckely the tide was on the way out and getting low to the waters edge was the key, if not a little tricky, after ducking under a very slippery jetty to get to it.
Now usually when I get to a location I will take a test shot just to gauge the lighting. Usually, that test shot is the first to get deleted at the editing stage, however that test shot turned out to be the best of the bunch! Not often that happens I can tell you. In fact, even the ones following it all have merit. Just to add a little something else to the scene, someone had docked a huge ship just in the right spot. Thanks very much!
