Waiting for another sunrise this morning at Seaham beach. I sat in the car, watching the sky, wondering if it would be worth the scramble to the rocky waters edge. The sky looked heavy with thick cloud and didn't lend itself to a fantastic sunrise. Then, a sliver of hope appered in the murky sky. Pink light seeped through the clouds and beckoned me down to the beach. I set up by one of the groynes that was being battered by the morning surf. The sound of the waves receding back into the sea over the rocky beach was a deafening SHHHHHHhhhhhh, like I was being told off for making too much noise myself. The pink in the sky grew stronger with promise as the sun worked its way over the horizon, only to be diminished by that thick depressing cloud. The pink faded into grey. However, all was not lost as I managed to capture the struggling attempts of that pink light in this image, as I struggled against the waves around my feet. Wellies are a great invention!
