Getting perfect wild, birds of prey photographs can be a very long and lonely process. Hours spent researching your subject, its habitat and routine, then staking out your chosen location for days if not weeks, just to get that shot can still end up with no images to take home. There are of course other options that are almost guaranteed to yield results, all be it in a more controlled environment and not so wild subjects. Recently, I visited one such place on an organized bird of prey photo shoot which was arranged through a local camera club. The venue was Andy Howey's Bird of Prey Centre in Northumberland. Andy has many tricks up his sleeve enabling the photographer to get spectacular images of the well looked after birds. Amongst the many natural looking props available, a visit to a local and very picturesque waterfall was a fantastic addition to the experience. Below are a selection of images achieved on the day. Hope you like looking at them as much as I enjoyed taking them. Click HERE to see them in the gallery
