Its amazing what's on your doorstep, well a 15 minute drive anyway. I had heard of the Cleadon Hills but never took the time to find out exactly where they were and take a visit. So, this evening I thought I would get out to somewhere new. Wow! what a view! With an almost 360 degrees view of the North East, its defiantly a place I will be returning to and so easy to get there. Why haven't I been before I wonder? The prominent feature on the hill is this old shell of a grade II listed windmill built around the 1800's. Its been in disuse since the 1850's and apparently was used for target practice during WW1. Rather than shooting bullets at it, I will settle for shooting my camera in its direction. This may not be the best view point of it but I am sure I will be back to find it.
